We believe that the coming together of the most influential business organization in the province with one of the pre-eminent business schools in Canada and a publishing company with the creativity and professionalism of Studio Publications is a recipe for success. The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce has long been considered the “Voice of Business” as we represent close to 2,100 businesses in the City of Winnipeg that employ more than 90,000 people. Winnipeg is a tremendous city with a storied business history, and our hope is that Marketplace Magazine will help fill a void in Winnipeg when it comes to providing business leaders with insightful information on issues that are important to them. At the same time we want to ensure that we continue to highlight and celebrate the success stories that happen in the business community. I believe that Winnipeg is on the cusp of reaching its full potential as a number of important initiatives such as CentrePort Canada, expansion of the James A. Richardson International Airport, and the proposed Canadian Museum for Human Rights are about to come to fruition. We need to build on the momentum that is being created and ensure the business community is engaged so they can communicate the Winnipeg story to others.
