The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba is investing $500,000 in the new Downtown Campus of the I.H. Asper School of Business.

This founding contribution was announced to the public and media with a cheque signing at the CA Learning Center on Monday, May 11.

Council decided to partner with the Asper School in this venture to raise the profession’s profile within the business community, extend the Institute’s support of business education in Manitoba and support lifelong learning and executive education.

The primary Downtown Campus classroom space will be named in recognition of the Institute’s support. The Institute will also have priority use of the Downtown Campus when it is not in use by the School and the Asper School will have use of the CA Learning Centre on the same terms. In addition, all future promotional materials put out by the School for the Downtown Campus will name the Institute as a founding sponsor.

The Asper School’s Downtown Campus will provide relevant and timely leadership education through executive education programs and professional development offerings.

It will house:

• “Smart” classrooms, delivering local and distance professional development opportunities
• A large boardroom that can be booked for meetings in the downtown area
• Space for receptions, providing a meeting place for corporate and community leaders
• A library and reading room available to the business community
